Stefano's interview:

Your Studies? How can we become like you?
He didn'd go to Univ, he was not an exemplary student in high school either. He just couldn't get to sit down in a class, discipline is not his cup of tea. Lots of self study.

Hobbies?
He used to play tennis when he was younger, then guitar.

Philippines?
For safety reasons they decided to come back to Europe. At the moment he is parked in Italy for some months, we'll see.

Working at Kunos?
It's never hard to work for Kunos, it's part of his passion. And he was lucky to meet people like Aris, Marco and Simone, people who are not "normal", and took the risk of this new project.

Why Vallelunga?
Marco used to come here to ride his motorbike, they had done some business here in the past, they had a chance to open an office here and it was just ideal for them. Every day they are in touch with people, cars, data, etc.

Did you expect the success of AC?
No. Well, they had a sort of negative experience with NetKar and so-so with Ferrari Virtual Academy, in terms of popularity and sales. AC is totally another story. If he walks in the paddock with his AC sweater, random people stop him to ask about AC. With NetKar nobody knocked at their office door there in Vallelunga.. now they do.

Multiplayer? What can we expect?
One of the things Stefano can do from Vallelunga is that finally he can use AC online with decent pings, unlike in the Philippines. He can spend more time online now so that helps.

Console Version? Will this bring a standby to the PC version or will the updates have the same rhythm on PC?
No standby. Maybe the updates will include a little less content because of the necessity to produce updates for both versions. At the moment they are about one month late on their plans.

Will console version help the PC version in some way?
The console version has just two hw platforms to work on (PS4 and Xbox One) while the PC version runs on whatever kind of PC configuration. This variability of CPUs and platforms creates a lot of headaches to make a feature work correctly on all platforms. So each development done on the consoles may or not be also portable to the PC version.

Multiplayer, contacts with other cars feel different from single player. Why?
The code is the same, but MP has to face latency (pings) so whenever there is a contact between two cars there is always a lag so the reaction is not immediate.

Is there a way to improve this?
There are some techniques to "simulate" the reaction to a physical impact, which were already used in NetKar, they may use this solution in the future.

Pit stop setup, will we be able to have a proprietary app for that?
Not for now. One thing they will have about pit stop is single player pit stop. The original idea was actually to let you scramble with the mouse to create a more "exciting" pit stop. For the console release they'll see.

Apps: any app for complete telemetry analysis?
In real life on many cars you don't have the chance of having complete telemetry even in real life. There are apps in the game for real time analysis, mostly done for the modders, not for the players. He has a complete telemetry with big log files for game development, but it's biiig files.

What's the .tc files?
They are the files for the in-game telemetry.

MP: a few dedicated "spectator" slots. They would give the chance to avoid occupying car slots for the streaming. When can we have it?
It used to be in the original plan.. They had to cut it because of priority reasons. There is a variable in the .ini but the function is not developed and they need to understand how much it takes to make it and when they can do it.

Replays: can we have other players' complete information in the replays so we can study them?
For MP, that would overload the server with info. [I guess the question was more about SP replays like hotlaps? But I just caught this answer for MP]

Sector times in MP?
They didn't make it to the game so far. Not huge thing to do, might be in one future update.

Third party apps: will some of them be integrated into AC?
No, the app idea was born with this logic, that an external approach may make plausible things that if developed by Kunos would expose them to criticism (e.g. Helicorsa, a radar! They would say AC is arcade!). The server plugin development is also following the same logic.

Rules like false start etc. What's new on this front?
I understand the need but it's not a priority.

Mouse: at the moment whatever you do you always need the mouse to navigate the menus. Will this change?
Well the whole interface and app system is designed around a mouse which gives you maximum freedom, allowing you to move apps around, click small buttons etc. So that's a good thing. On the console you cannot have this freedom. Adding the console interface into the PC would be a big headache for them in terms of support and development. They have a situation called "Assetto Corsa Pro" (AC customized versions for fairs events etc.) which goes in the direction of no mouse, so they are considering that, too. Also, for Oculus Rift you need to do something. They'll have to find a way to make AC more easy to use without a mouse.

How did you get to know about us (AC Italian community)?
Through you!

So, no rain and no night, right?
No rain, no night...

Marco's interview

Console, we read of announced release dates. Is that true?
The only confirmed time range is first half of 2016 if all goes well. There will also be some time needed to pass the Sony/Microsoft admission process. They don't have a date now.

So, next PC updates?
This week if all goes well Audi R8 Plus as free bonus.
Around mid-December Dream Pack 3, including Brands Hatch and 7 cars: Lotus 25, Lotus 72 D, McLaren 650S GT3, Mercedes AMG GT3, Abarth 500 Assetto Corse, Ford Escort Mk1 [he only says 6 of them]
Before Christmas there will be another bonus content.
At the end of the year they will announce a new license, wait for Dec 31.
